Interpublic Group is in negotiations to sell its prominent digital marketing agency, R/GA, to India’s Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). This move is part of a broader strategy by consulting firms to expand their presence on Madison Avenue. According to sources familiar with the matter, TCS aims to capture more business from chief marketing officers through its growing digital marketing division, TCS Interactive, in the U.S.

R/GA’s Reputation and Potential Valuation

R/GA, known for its work with top brands like Verizon Communications, Google’s Android, Samsung, and Coca-Cola, is best recognized for developing Nike+, a platform that assists runners in tracking and recording their runs. The potential deal could value R/GA at approximately $300 million, although the exact terms remain undisclosed. The agreement is not yet final, with valuation being a key point of contention.
